The pandemic shook the world. It made everything come to a standstill. It took away several lives and changed many. It changed our lives too but affected the underprivileged the most.
At Recess, we have never wanted to make these families dependent on donations. But, in these unprecedented times, we were fortunate enough to be able to provide for them. Our donors and our team made wonders happen even during the lockdown!
Since the pandemic hit the world, we undertook the responsibility of extending our support to the disadvantaged part of society. We provided food kits to hundreds of low-income families dwelling in the slums and tribal areas. We still continue to do so.
In the past 18 months, we have distributed grocery kits to over 2000 disadvantaged families and more than 3000 meals to slum families. Our kits contain the essentials – ration and medical aid. It consisted of flour, oil, dals, rice, and other essential ingredients that helped them put food on the table.
Well, the pandemic has made the world stop, but that doesn’t mean education should stop! We at Recess know the importance of education, which is why we with the help of our donors funded over 100 kids’ full year’s education during the pandemic. We also plan to cover the fees of over 200 kids in the next academic year.
How can you help?
We are happy to help more kids in the future, no matter how the circumstances will be, but to do so we’ll need your support.
One kit consisting of essential food items costs Rs. 700. If you would like to contribute towards our COVID-19 Support initiative, you can click the donate button below and choose your contribution.
